Instructors will include the following:

Daniel Anderson is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Strategies Group at Vining Sparks, IBG.  In his role he helps depositories with balance sheet management and investment portfolio strategies, as well as evaluation of interest rate risk exposure and strategies for managing liquidity.  Daniel has more than ten years of experience working with community banks and credit unions, primarily in fixed income product areas and asset/liability management.  Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Daniel was an Asset/Liability Analyst from 2010 to 2014 with another regional broker dealer.  He began his career in bond accounting in 2008.  Daniel attended the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Daniel holds the Series 7, 63, and 66 licenses.

Ricky Brillard, CPA is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Strategies Group at ICBA Securities.  He works with financial institutions on balance sheet strategies, the optimization of investment portfolio returns, and the evaluation of asset/liability exposure, while incorporating the entity’s liquidity needs, risk controls, and capital constraints.  Ricky worked as an auditor for a local public accounting firm for over 5 years where he provided financial statement audit, internal audit, regulatory compliance, and related consulting services for financial institution clients.  Prior to being a public accountant, he was employed by Merrill Lynch where he assisted clients in determining long-term financial goals and implementing financial strategies.  Ricky holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Tennessee.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of the Barret Graduate School of Banking.

Dudley Carter, CPA is an Economist for Vining Sparks, a fixed income broker/dealer serving institutional investors. Dudley writes daily commentary covering the U.S. and global financial markets, as well as foreign economic developments.  He also assists with the projection and publication of Vining Sparks’ economic and interest rate forecasts and contributes to research articles for Vining Sparks. Dudley is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Tennessee and member of the Tennessee Society for Certified Public Accountants. Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Dudley was an audit manager at KPMG LLP, with a focus on the financial services sector.  He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Master’s degree in Accounting and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics.

Craig Dismuke is the Chief Economist for Vining Sparks IBG. Craig is responsible for the projection and publication of Vining Sparks’ economic and interest rate forecasts. He evaluates economic developments and fixed income sector performance to identify risks and opportunities within the U.S. market. He speaks often at industry conferences on the health of the U.S. economy, expectations for interest rates, and relevant fixed income strategies. He is a frequent guest on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg TV as well as being quoted often in the financial news.

Michael Erhardt, CPA is a Senior Vice President in the Investment Strategies Group at Vining Sparks, IBG. He works closely with financial institutions on balance sheet and investment portfolio strategies, liquidity management, evaluation of asset/liability exposure, and liability and loan pricing. Michael has over 18 years of experience with financial institutions, including serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Paragon National Bank from 2004 until 2011.  Prior to joining Paragon, Michael was employed by Enterprise National Bank from 1994 until 2004 where he served as staff accountant, accounting manager and Chief Financial Officer.  Michael holds a Bachelor and Master of Accountancy degree from the University of Mississippi.  He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of Louisiana State University’s Graduate School of Banking.

Jim Reber, CPA, CFA is President and CEO of ICBA Securities. He has over 30 years of financial services experience.  Jim worked for Ernst & Whinney as a senior auditor before entering the banking industry.  Jim writes a monthly investment column for Independent Banker magazine. He holds a BS degree from Christian Brothers University.

Rick Redmond, CMA Rick has 25 years of experience with large regional banks, with responsibilities including the customer derivative business, interest rate risk management, mortgage servicing hedging, loan pricing, and risk adjusted performance management. Rick has managed derivative positions hedging over $200 billion in assets. He graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Accounting and Finance in 1979 and the BAI Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in 1992.

Greg Roll, CFA is an SVP within the Strategic Solutions department of Vining Sparks. Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Greg spent over 15 years working in positions in the corporate strategy, private banking, and capital markets functions at a regional bank.  Greg works with financial institutions to assist them in optimizing their investment portfolio and balance sheet position incorporating the institution’s asset/liability, liquidity position, and capital constraints. Greg attended the University of Oklahoma and The University of Memphis, earning BBA and MBA degrees in finance.

Kevin Smith, CFA joined Vining Sparks in 2008 and currently serves and Manager of Strategic Analytics for the Strategic Solutions Group.  He focuses on providing timely capital market solutions and delivering valuable tools and services to internal and external stakeholders.  A graduate of Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN, Kevin earned his degree in Finance and a minor in History.  He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA institute.

Dan Stimpson, CPA works with portfolio managers to assist them in optimizing their investment portfolio return and risk position, while incorporating the entities liquidity needs, risk controls and capital constraints.  Dan started working in the financial sector in 2001.  Prior to joining Vining Sparks, Dan began his career with KPMG, LLP where he provided accounting and audit services to a variety of industries.  Dan later served as Vice President and Corporate Controller at a community bank.  Dan obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees in accounting from the University of Mississippi.  In addition, Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute and Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
